President/Owner
James Smith, MSTI is the founder, owner and president of Controlled Technical Services. As a retired U.S. Marine Intelligence officer, James is an experienced leader, offering inspired management and stellar results.

In his previous roles as a chief of staff and program manager, James wrangled both existing and new technologies as he conducted cyber security demonstrations within virtual and augmented reality environments that resulted in seven advanced concept programs, designed to enhance government strategies for cyber operations.

A dynamic problem solver, James excels at thorough analysis, project management, critical thinking, and operational research. These proficiencies, combined with his expertise in communicating steps to reaching key organizational goals and milestones is a crucial benefit to CTS and its clients. His loaded skill set also includes crisis management, operations coordination and serving as a sage advisor.

Starting his education with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Science and Technology Intelligence, James has completed intensive coursework and a certification in Project Management from Georgetown University. He is currently completing an Executive Master of Business Administration from Auburn University.
